23 July 2008* The streak is over! Bengie Molina’s two home runs last night (from the #4 spot) were the first by a #3 or #4 Giants hitter in 41 games. No team has endured a longer streak of homerless games from its #3 and #4 hitters since 1980. Go Giants!
* Barry Zito is 3-1 with a 3.64 ERA and .233 opponent BA over his last five starts. Just sayin’.
* The Giants hit three home runs last night, after going deep just three times in their last 13 GAMES.
* Since June 3, Aaron Rowand’s OPS (.610) is good enough for 47th out of 53 outfielders with at least 150 PA.
* It’s hard to like Salomon Torres, isn’t it? AS a Giant, Torres was 8-22 with a 5.47 ERA and .284 opponent BA. When Torres pitches AGAINST the Giants, his teams are 17-2, and he’s allowed just 10 hits in 64 at-bats (.156). Oh yeah, and there was that start at the end of the 1993 season too.
