1 down, 161 to go
31 March 2008An offense that produces zero runs and zero extra-base hits on opening day, $80 million dollars. A washed up starter who allows four runs and eight hits in just five innings of work, $126 million dollars. The worst general manager in baseball? Priceless.
When asked why he was laughing, Brian Sabean responded, “Even I can’t believe I got a new two year extension!”
Sure, Brad Penny is good… but the Giants looked ridiculously helpless today.
This may indeed be a record breaking year for the Giants:
* fewest runs/hits/etc through first xx games?
* worst record through first xx games?
And since Giants’ management felt it wise to remove all mentions of Barry Bonds from the park, can we replace the “Splash Hits” sign with “Extra Base Hits”?
