what’s more important than baseball?
20 June 2007There’s very, very few political issues that I feel strongly enough about to bother with. This is one. The general public overwhelmingly supports stem cell research yet our pres. intends to veto another measure promoting the science.
But, to all those suffering from terrible diseases like diabetes, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s, worry not! Our fearless leader has a plan:
In interviews on Tuesday, two senior administration officials said Mr. Bush would direct his health and human services secretary to promote research into producing cells with properties akin to those of human embryonic stem cells, without destroying embryos in the process. Mr. Bush has said embryo destruction is a moral line that he will not cross. But the effort appears largely symbolic — there is no money attached.
So thank you Mr. Bush for your “moral line”, which once again crosses out hope, reason, and common sense.

You would have thought he had a moral line he wouldn’t cross when he chose to invade a country and leave it in a bigger mess than when he found it
