oddity of the day

I was a little bit bored this morning, and happened to notice that in yesterday’s games (Monday, June 4), every American League home team won, and every National League home team lost. (see for yourself here) Well that got me thinking… I wonder when the last time every home team in one league won, and every home team in the other league lost?

Interestingly enough, the last time it happened (with at least four games played in each league) was more than 14 years ago, May 27, 1993.

Almost just as interesting… it took more than 14 years for it to happen again, but the last time it happened before May 27, 1993… was just seven days prior, May 20, 1993. What a world.
