bush league, take two
4 June 2007
I’m not a baseball insider, and I don’t know all the unwritten rules of the game, nor will I pretend to. But the reaction from Toronto players to what A-Rod did last week makes me think he crossed the line in a big way. Mark it down in your calendar, July 16-19, A-Rod is going to get plunked, and plunked hard. I’d actually really like to be at that game… the Jays are mad, and rightly so in my opinion.
Even Joe Torre didn’t come to A-Rod’s defense this time:
“He may have been excited about the fact that we were leading the ballgame,” Torre said Friday before his team’s series opener at Boston. “It was probably inappropriate to do it at the time he did it, but you can’t change it, unfortunately.”
Don’t forget, this is not the first time A-Rod has pulled a bush-league play. Remember the pansy little “slap” he took in game six of the 2004 ALCS?
What’s-the-matter with A-Rod? HE’S A BUM.
